STAFF SPOTLIGHT: MADELEINE ROE

We are so excited to introduce you to the Bakehouse Team!

We enjoy getting to know everyone who walks through our doors, so we thought you may like to know a little bit more about those behind the counter here at the Bakehouse! Each month we'll feature a member of our team, share a little bit about them, and how they made their way to the Bakehouse. Without further ado, please meet this month's featured team member, Franklin Bakehouse’s amazing new Baker, Madeleine Roe!

Position:

Baker - I apprentice our incredibly talented Master Baker Randy learning all things bread! We out everything from artisan sourdough loaves to Italian Grissini.

Can you share a little bit about yourself:

I moved to Franklin from Kansas almost two years ago when the company I was working for relocated. I graduated from a small school with a BFA in Ballet and minor in Biology, but instead of dancing professionally or pursuing higher education in Physical Therapy, I started ‘real life’ and tried to figure out what I really wanted. Now I care more about living each day well, pursuing things that make me happy, and serving my community!

Why did you want to join the Bakehouse team?

I did a 180 when I accepted the position at Bakehouse. Prior to baking, I worked at a computer desk managing a patient care department. Let me tell you, I could not be more happy to be on my feet working with my hands and tapping into my more artistic side.

What's your favorite part about working at Franklin Bakehouse?

There’s such a vibrance and excitement in the kitchen. It ebbs and flows and we really support each other back there to get everything done. I love the teamwork!

What is one word to describe your team?

Bold!

What is your favorite Bakehouse menu item?

Oh that’s so hard. It changes just about every week! I am really loving the sausage and kale soup right now… with a side of sourdough of course.

When you're not at the Bakehouse, what are you up to?

I enjoy olympic weightlifting and CrossFit. I kind of go insane if I don’t get in the gym.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’m in awe of our fearless leader Angie. She never ceases to keep innovating and putting out stellar food and products with top notch service!

Although Maddy has only been here for a short period of time, she has made such a difference and has been a great attribute to the Bakehouse team! Maddy brings her best to work every day and is always willing to take on new projects and responsibilities when needed. We are very grateful to have her a part of the Bakehouse family!
